Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has shrugged off suggestions he could move to Inter Milan in the summer, insisting he feels happy with his “important” role at Old Trafford.
Romero has only played once in the Premier League this season for United as David De Gea is the clear first choice but the 30-year-old has been utilised in the cup competitions and the Europa League, which the Red Devils reached the final of on Thursday.
The Argentinian has been linked with a move to Serie A this summer due to his lack of league football but Romero is adamant that he is loving live in Manchester, and is not looking to leave
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia Romero said: “No, I doubt I’ll be in Italy next year.
“I am very happy in Manchester, they make me feel important and I hope to stay for a long time.”Romero has experience of the Italian top flight having previously played for Sampdoria, but appears committed to his role at United. The shot-stopper endured a busy night on Thursday as United could only draw 1-1 with Celta Vigo, securing their place in the final after winning the away leg 1-0.Romeo has been sensational in the Europa League this campaign, keeping seven clean-sheets in ten outings, the most of any goalkeeper in the competition.
