Valencia are interested in signing midfielder Francis Coquelin from Arsenal this summer according to reports in Spain.
Coquelin signed a new contract at Arsenal in January that is set to run until 2021, but the Frenchman is being targeted by Valencia, who have also enquired about Malaga’s Ignacio Camacho, according to AS
A player who is highly regarded by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, Coquelin is closing in on his 100th Premier League appearance.
Having commenced the season in the starting line-up, the 26-year-old is no longer a regular following the switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation, with Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey currently the preferred partnership at the base of the midfield.
Coquelin is renowned for snapping into challenges with regularity and has averaged three defensive actions per game in the Premier League this season, while he has an average pass accuracy of 88%.
Valencia, who are in 12th place in La Liga, are determined to improve their squad ahead of next season.
